What is better - Internet Download Manager or Downvids.net

Well as the title, I am just going to present the differences between these two methods.

What is better to download videos from Video Sharing site– IDM or Downvids.net?

The answer will be long probably. I used both the methods so I can tell you clearly about it.

First about IDM or formally Internet Download Manager.  If you want to download a video from YouTube  then you need to open the video first. Then you will see a blue bar of title “Download this video”. You need to click on it then the download will begin. Somehow, this method got some problems. Sometimes when you click on the bar , it will show a list of bars of the same video but of different sizes. As per my experience, some bars when clicked, it will begin to download the ad in the video….which is frustrating. Who want to download those sh*t ad videos!

Another problem I found in the IDM is that whenever you download videos, at the last time ; at about 99%.......it stops and various type of errors will be prompted up. Sometimes it shows a server problem, sometimes connectivity problem.

A risk with the IDM is that it downloads a file by splitting it into multiple and then later stitches the parts to save on the local disk. This is good for Faster downloading but sometimes at the last time the stitching may not be successful ending up at the fail downloading.

I also come up with error just today saying the Rename was unsuccessful after the download. When I browse the download folder there is no video. Very bad luck.

A huge problem with the IDM is that you cannot download Facebook videos by it….I may be wrong here, let me know.

Now it’s time to talk about Downvids.net. It’s a simple website to download videos from YouTube and Facebook  You just need to copy the link of the video and then paste it in the box of Downvids.net. Then clicking on the Download button the site will fetch you a option to download the video with a little thumbnail of the video.

I haven’t found any errors or bugs in this process. But the major drawback of this service is that you can’t download videos from all sites. At the time of writing this article it only support Facebook and YouTube. Later  it may support other sites also.

After a detailed discussion I will suggest you to use Downvids to download video from Facebook and YouTube. But IDM will be the ultimate option for you to download from other sites.
